SYDNEY INTERNATIONAL COMPOSERS CONCERT 2018

Supported by the SCO Foundation and the composers themselves, the Sydney Contemporary Orchestra (SCO) proudly presents the Sydney International Composers Concert 2018.

The Sydney International Composers Concerts were created for today's composers, to provide real opportunities for new orchestral music to be performed and heard by today's audiences.

Music history is written by composers, and these composers are commendable and should be highly respected for their hard work, their dedication to the art, and their generous contribution to our music culture. All the composers who take part in the Sydney International Composers Consents do so without requiring payment of royalties they would otherwise be entitled. They do this because they are convinced that the continued performance of new music is essential to the development of our music culture.

Thanks to the SCO Foundation, that by it's limited funds it has enabled this project to happen.

Featuring 5 new works by contemporary composers from the USA, Italy, Brazil, and Australia, and with our passionate and dedicated musicians, Sydney International Composers Concert 2018 is an amazing opportunity to hear new orchestral music of contemporary composers, to share their musical ideas, philosophies and creativity, and to challenge your ideologies.

JOIN THE SYS ORCHESTRAS

Membership Fee
All revenues (membership fees, concert ticket sales etc.) will go towards The SCO Foundation to be used to promote new music of the contemporary composers.
 
Membership annual fee of  $600 (for 4 school terms) is asked of each member for the Sydney Hills Youth Orchestra (SHYO), and $500 for the Sydney Hills Junior Orchestra (SHJO).

The fee is calculated in 4 school terms blocks for all members (e.g. if you join from term 2 of the year, your membership will be extended to next year term 1).

  2. Payments must be completed before the first rehearsal.  

You are welcome to join us at any time.

For young musicians joining the SYS Orchestras will need fill up your online Membership Registration From and send a short video recording of your performance via WeTransfer.

  • You will be notified with payment instruction should your application successful via email.
  • Successful members will have a website login account to access the Members Zone to download music parts.
